Regensia will be contributing to two upcoming events in New York City.

The US-German ZERO CARBON CITY Research Network, with support from the German Ministry of Education and Research, is hosting a conference called Building the City of Tomorrow between June 1st and 7th, 2018.  The conference will bring together research partners from the US and Germany to share their research on the development in modeling approaches for the food, water, energy nexus. The event takes place in collaboration with stakeholders from the government and the industry in order to shape new project concept and collaborations.

Regensia’s Joshua Foss will be leading a workshop on Wednesday June 6th titled ‘Maximizing Urban Synergies Through Integrated Utility Hubs‘.  The session will introduce the IUH model and its value proposition for cities and developers, share key findings from applied IUH test case modeling led for several cities throughout the world, and introduce Regensia’s REVA urban systems assessment platform as a tool to ensure community infrastructure can be developed to maximize environmental, social, and economic value.

Also on June 6th, Foss will be presenting at a side event within the United Nations’ third annual multi-stakeholder forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) for the Sustainable Development Goals.  The side event will also focus on presenting solutions to the food-energy-water nexus by highlighting currently available technology solutions that are not yet being fully utilized for the SDGs. It will focus on existing technology for basic life support (i.e., agritech, renewable energy, water treatment) that could be more effectively used to address the food-energy-water nexus, thus, basic city services central to smart sustainable city development. It will also explore issues of social equity when deploying these tech-enabled solutions to ensure no community is left behind.
